Traveling to Russia!

Today we have made plans to travel to Russia to visit our soon-to-be daughter. OMG! We are filled with many different emotions.

Our itinerary will be to fly to Moscow on Saturday, May 31st; a 12 hour flight; then board a train and that is a 12 hour ride to arrive in Cheboksary, Russia on Monday June 2nd.

We will only have one day to visit with our 2-be daughter. We have hired a doctor to travel with us to evaluate her and give us a professional opinion on her medical condition. We will be traveling also with a "regional representative" that works with our adoption agency so, we will have someone who will help us with translating, etc.

We only get to see her for one day, Monday. We will then stay in Cheboksary Monday night and travel by train back to Moscow Tuesday evening (all night) and arrive in Moscow on Wednesday morning. Our plans are then to do some sightseeing and resting before flying back home on Friday, June 6th.

Thank you to those who visit our blog and for those of you praying for our safe travels and speedy process, to bring our daughter home!

We will try to blog as much as we can while traveling... unsure of how accessible Internet cafe' s will be...

Adoption Update

It has been a while since our last post. We have been busy with Spring and Baseball!

Our adoption agency contacted us on Friday, May 16th with the file of a little girl. We contacted a doctor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital that specializes in the care of internationally adopted children for her recommendations about her health; with positive comments from our Dr. we accepted her and will begin our travel plans to go to Russia to meet her and make sure she is every bit as wonderful in person as she looks on paper.

We are very excited. We have been waiting for her since July, 2007; and God has helped us to be patient and our prayers have finally been answered.

Her birth name is Anna.
She was born November 2, 2006.
She is currently living in a "baby hospital/orphanage" in Cheboksary, Russia.
Cheboksary is south of Moscow by train about 12 hours and by air about 1.5 hours.

We will post more as we find out more information. Check back often as our travel dates to visit her for the first time will be in the week of June 1st!
